The Quantum MP drive is delivered from the factory with the auxiliary supply terminals E1 and E3 pre-wired to the drive AC power terminals L1 and L3. This is adequate for most installations. If it is necessary to power the auxiliary supply from a separate source, the following steps must be taken:
- Ensure that the main AC supply and any other hazardous energy sources are turned off and locked out before attempting to remove the Quantum drive cover or auxiliary wiring.
- Wait for 10 minutes after turning off the electrical supply for any stored electrical energy to dissipate.
- Remove the Quantum MP cover (size 1 only).
- Locate and completely remove from the drive the two 10 AWG wires that run from L1 to E1 and L3 to E3 (may instead run from L1 to E3 and L3 to E1).
- Connect the separate auxiliary supply to the Quantum MP, E1 and E3 terminals using a 10 A 600 V branch circuit rated fuse in each line. Note: The separate auxiliary supply must be in phase with the main supply lines L1 and L3.
- Reconfigure the 120 Vac control transformer per Table 4-6 in the User Guide for the auxiliary supply voltage.
- Replace the Quantum MP cover (size 1 only).
